Cloud
Cloud is not simply a commercial group that exists to make a profit, and it should not be treated as the final villain of the story.
Every region has its own Cloud. Each one has one or two top administrators, whose positions are roughly equivalent to those of governors. They are responsible for managing Cloud's local affairs.
Cloud works with selected companies, businesses, hospitals, and other institutions in each region. Different regional Clouds work with different organizations, but the general structure is similar.
Cloud's responsibilities involve the handling of human bodies and consciousness, as well as deciding what these bodies and forms of consciousness may be used for.
To a large extent, Cloud represents society's strong emphasis on technological progress. Its problem is not necessarily that it deliberately does evil. Rather, it may take values that society has already accepted and follow them to an extreme. Even when Cloud believes it is working for humanity's future, its decisions can still create serious ethical problems.
Cloud does not take part in the conflict between Syke Union and Valgais during the early part of the story.
Cloud Laboratory
Cloud Laboratory is a large organization under the highest leader.
People are required to pay taxes to Cloud Laboratory every month.
Digital life has two main sources of income for its maintenance system:

Public tax revenue.

Income from selling research and development products to major corporate groups.
Because of this, the economic system for digital life is directly connected to Cloud Laboratory, public finances, and major corporate groups.
The exact organizational relationship between Cloud Laboratory and the regional Clouds, as well as the internal structure of Cloud Laboratory, has not yet been decided.
Syke Union
Syke Union is a major corporate group located in Orphett. Orphett is the wealthiest place in the world, and Syke Union is one of the largest companies there.
Syke Union has a major department called Cloud Bionics Division.
Cloud Bionics Division is a branch of Cloud. It only works in cooperation with Syke Union, while Cloud supervises its payroll and work management.
Valgais
Valgais is a major group located in Rochert and is a competitor of Syke Union. The main conflict in the early part of the story revolves around Syke Union and Valgais.
The two groups were not enemies from the beginning. They originally worked together, which allowed them to learn about each other's technology and research projects.
The main conflict between Syke Union and Valgais comes from their different ideas about technological development.
Quantum Lost
Quantum Lost is located in Evara. It is a gray-market organization operating within the local black-market environment.
Mireille was once considered a genius within Quantum Lost. She grew up in the environment surrounding the organization and was affected by conflicts in the local black market. Mireille's parents died during one of these conflicts.
Deripa Military Defense Base
Deripa Military Defense Base is located in Novros.
When Mona is seven, her mother takes her away from the family and sends her to this base for pilot training. Even after the truth behind her past is revealed, she continues to work as a pilot.
Flavie Information Technology Co.
Flavie Information Technology Co. is located in Evara.
Mireille joins the company while investigating the truth.
St. Solen Medical Hub
St. Solen Medical Hub is located in Novros.
After graduating from medical school, Mireille works there as a doctor. Even after all four of his limbs are replaced with prosthetic limbs following the Novros Civil War, he continues working as a doctor.
Hoh Sihron Institute for the Paranormal
The Hoh Sihron Institute for the Paranormal is located in Veil Orchid.
It studies phenomena in this world that cannot be explained by current science. Because the nature of this research is uncertain, the institute can choose not to publish its findings.
The Helian Clan
The Helian Clan is an influential family in Veil Orchid.
Mona and Wan Helian are twin sisters. Both were born in Veil Orchid and belong to the Helian Clan. Wan Helian is the heir to the family and has supernatural powers. She has received strict training since childhood. Mona, on the other hand, was taken away from the family by her mother when she was seven and sent to Deripa Military Defense Base in Novros for pilot training.
The Helian Clan is effectively in control of the work of the Hoh Sihron Institute for the Paranormal.
